Today, the "Pearl of the Pacific", as you know, is a cosmopolitan city, bordering the Pacific Ocean and owns a strong personality has allowed itself to be one of the most beautiful cities in Ecuador. The current municipal administration, under the command of Ab. Jaime Nebot, has supported the urban regeneration project that Guayaquil has been transformed into a city with an impressive cultural and tourist attraction. Iis a delight to explore its historic downtown and see the beauty and cleanliness of its squares, monuments and colonial buildings, like the church of San Francisco, the park and plaza Rocafuerte Seminar. Other parts of the city have also been rescued, giving them life by offering cultural centers, restaurants, bars and art galleries. Among the most important works is the Malecon 2000, nearly 3 km long, where you can appreciate the great monuments of the history of the city as well, museums, gardens, fountains, malls, cinemas and all types of commercial premises and entertainment. From there you can deal with boats that take you around day and night by the river Guayas. This is one of the largest projects undertaken by Guayaquil and considered a model worldwide. Other important attractions that have been rescued are the Cerro Santa Ana, memorable for being the place where the city was founded. Along the hill is the traditional neighborhood of Las Peñas, the current downtown art galleries and bohemian life of Guayaquil. From this viewpoint, we see the whole city with a magnificent view of the confluence of the rivers and Babahoyo Duale, which form the great river Guayas. |
